~* 哈尔滨 Harbin Merry Month of May 2007 *~

'The Pearl on the swan's neck' - a short visit to capital of the Heilongjiang-Province 26-27. 05. 2007

After walking down the famous 中央大街 (Zhongyang Dajie = central avenue） and some junk food, we visited the Blue's Club 布鲁斯酒吧 (click here to find it at 100 Diduan Jie 地段街100号). They played nice commercial dancefloor music and the spirits were high. Dancing was fun and some locals really knew how to do it! There also were several show acts, Russian students dancing and singing.

The Box Club (click here to find it at 82 Xidazhi Jie 西大直街82号) was next. Many foreigners were hanging around in there, and the general atmosphere was more chic and vain than in the Blues Club. Also here show acts took place, for example live violin-playing. The music was a little more spirited than in Blues and some self-proclaimed GoGo-Dancer showed what they had. Later, around 1am, the music got really good, kicking ass smart shit!

Staying in the 哈拉少 ha la shao hostel is a good idea if you are on a budget, since there is a free breakfast included (if you manage to eat it before 9 am), the night costs only¥45 and you can stay in the room until 6pm if you wanna.
