from January to May 2004: Erasmus Semester in Kouvola

we stayed at Utinkatu "the residence" 85

Where to start with such a huge thing? Probably at the beginning ;)
To be completely honest: Actually i didn't even want to come to Finland,
I wanted to go to Berlin. I thought Berlin was a huge, tough and cool place
that would bring out the best of me. Well, Heimo Mller, the head of the
Informationdesign department back then decided different, and that's
why things happened like they happend.

Christian Juri, a very good friend and student colleague, had already gone one semester earlier to Finland. And he did the unthinkable, namely he prolonged his stay up north for another five month. That sounded crazy to me: Wasn't it cold, dark, expensive and unfriendly up there? Well, now I can say: It really was expensive and sometimes cold and dark, but never unfriendly. Rather the opposite. People were much nicer to us than in Austria. Maybe the reason for mutual(?) happiness with almost all Finns was very simple: I was just having a great time and that effects on others. But besides from just talking with friends and colleagues the relationships to teachers were good because objectivly most of the courses were simply better than in Austria. The important information was conveyed well and then we worked ourself, e.g. took photos, made sketches or movies.

I'm planning to put up more text (and maybe other pictures) as memories come by...
